For more than 40 years, the World Energy Council has supported young professionals through its Future Energy Leaders programmes, providing national, regional, and international engagement opportunities and events with the objective of inspiring participants to become the next generation of energy leaders capable of solving the world’s most pressing challenges regarding energy and sustainability. 

These Future Energy Leaders have the ambition and capabilities to influence and impact whole energy system transitions. Participants broaden their understanding of the global energy industry and the diverse energy challenges impacting communities around the world, and grow into a generation of responsible global leaders.

Future Energy Leaders at World Energy Congress

Sitting alongside the Global and National Future Energy Leaders programmes, World Energy Congress reinforces its commitment to supporting youth leadership and representation through the selection of 100 Congress Future Energy Leaders - high-potential young professionals representing the next generation of energy leadership across regions, sectors, and disciplines.

As emerging leaders from across regions and disciplines, Congress Future Energy Leaders contribute fresh perspectives, practical expertise, and collaborative leadership to the World Energy Congress where they engage alongside senior decision-makers, innovators, and experts shaping the global energy leadership agenda.

In addition to open participation, Future Energy Leaders also come together in dedicated spaces for peer exchange and closed-door conversations designed to encourage reflection, collaboration, and new thinking.

Congress delegates, partners, and sponsors are encouraged to connect and engage with Future Energy Leaders in public sessions and within the dedicated Future Energy Leaders event space throughout Congress.
